Vänerresurs 2.0 – for a sustainable future around Vänern
Vänern is Europe's third largest lake and a vital resource for both nature, fishing, and tourism.
To preserve the lake's marine biodiversity and create long-term sustainability, three leader areas are collaborating – Leader Närheten, Leader Nordvästra Skaraborg, and Framtidsbygder Dalsland Årjäng Munkedal – in the project.
The work builds on previous investments such as Fishing area Vänern and Vänerresurs, where experiences and knowledge about sustainable use of the lake have been gathered.
Now the work is being advanced to secure Vänern's fish resources, develop new collaborations, and create a common structure for future efforts.
The goal is clear: to strengthen cooperation between municipalities, organizations, and actors around the lake – and to ensure that Vänern continues to be a rich, vibrant, and accessible natural resource for future generations.
