This is how it goes
Here you will find information about how to apply for project funding from Leader Northwestern Skaraborg. Always contact us at the Leader office before you start your application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service.
Four steps to your project
At Leader Nordvästra Skaraborg, associations, companies, organizations, networks, municipalities, etc. can apply for support for a project within locally led development. The project idea must fit into our development strategy, preferably in collaboration with others, and the result must be beneficial to more than those implementing the project within our leader area.
Here you can read about how it works from getting started, testing your idea, to applying and receiving a decision. It all starts with an idea, which is eventually shaped into a concrete project and an application for support. If the project is approved for support, you can begin your work. After the project is complete, you must submit a final report to the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
Step 1
Get started
A successful project is based on local conditions and the driving forces that exist in the place. Therefore, start by anchoring the idea and talking to others. Is there a need for the project to be implemented?
Don't miss reading about Leader Northwestern Skaraborg's goals and areas of focus in our development strategy. An application must align with the strategy in order to be granted Leader support.
Please note that the benefit of your project must accrue to our leader area to be eligible, which includes these municipalities: Essunga, Grästorp, Gullspång, Götene, Karlsborg, Lidköping, Mariestad, Skara Töreboda, and Vara. Projects whose benefit only extends to the city center of Lidköping are not eligible.
Step 2
Test your idea
It can take some time for an idea to take hold. When you start to have it ready with a genuine anchoring, you can test it here on our website. By filling out our idea template, you will get quick feedback on whether it is something you need to think about further.
It is important that you have contacted and received feedback from the leader office before you go to the next step.
Is it a smaller project that is relevant?
Sub-activity within umbrella
If your idea lands in a smaller project that doesn't need more than
SEK 40,000, it may be better to seek support for partial activities within our umbrella projects.
Step 3
Write an application and seek support
Depending on the type of support you are applying for, the process will be different. If you are applying for support for a larger project, the application must be written in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system. We at the office will read the application and provide feedback, often several times, before the application is complete.
If you are seeking support within our umbrella projects to carry out a smaller project, please use the application form for the relevant support. The application form is emailed to us at the office, we will review it and return with feedback before the application is complete.
Deadlines
Please note that there are application periods and deadlines linked to decision times. Within the application periods there is also limited capacity for the Leader Office. Your arrival date, whether your application is complete and assessable, and capacity determine which application period your application will be processed.
Step 4
Time for decision
When the application is complete, it's time to keep your fingers crossed! The board makes decisions once a quarter. When the meetings take place can be seen in the calendar here on the website. If you are seeking support for a larger project, you are welcome to the board meeting to talk about your planned investment.
As soon as the decision is made, we will contact you to tell you how it went. If you are granted support, the work and the fun begin.
our local umbrellas have slightly faster processes
Decisions within umbrellas
Within our local umbrella projects, we usually have a final meeting with the assessment committee within 4 weeks of the deadline.
The project leader for the umbrella prefers your idea and the evaluation group has taken note of your application.
You will be notified of the decision as soon as possible, an agreement will be signed between you and Leader Nordvästra Skaraborg, then you can begin your part-time activity.
The final report and application for non-payment will be made when you are finished at one time, and will be processed and decided by the project manager in charge. Usually within 4 weeks depending on how complete your final report is.
