Test your idea

Can your idea become a Leader project? Go through our checklist and get an indicator of whether Leader is the right funder for what you want to do and what you need to include in the upcoming plan for your project application.

Test your idea first

Before you contact us, we want you to think through your project idea. Use the questions below to find out if the idea matches the areas we can support and what you need to add or possibly limit to create a feasible project. You can then download our idea template. Once you have answered what you can, send the idea template to the leader office, which will provide feedback on how you can work further with your idea.

Does the project fall within the framework of our strategy?

Can the project clearly contribute to achieving the strategy's goals? The idea must match at least one of our 4 focus areas in order to receive support and meet all the basic conditions in the selection criteria. Read more about strategy, goals and areas of focus.

Innovative thinking

Should the project be used to create development in different ways? Does it contribute to a solution or cover a need? You cannot apply for support to support already existing activities?

Anchoring & collaboration

Is the idea anchored with those who are expected to contribute, participate or benefit from the result? Is there a clear target group/users/managers that strengthens the long-term perspective?

Should the project be carried out in collaboration with other parties? Who can contribute and benefit from the effort? Can you include all or parts of a three-partnership of the non-profit, private and public sectors?

Broad benefit

Will the project's expected results be of broad benefit, that is, will they result in improvements/development for more than just those implementing the project?

Some exceptions apply to the development of business ideas that largely create benefits for one or a few companies.

Do the benefits of the project's efforts and results accrue to the Leader Northwestern Skaraborg area?

The leader area: Essunga, Grästorp, Gullspång, Götene, Karlsborg, Lidköping, Mariestad, Skara, Töreboda and Vara.

Implementation capacity

Do you have an arranged co-financing and plan for how the project could be implemented in practical terms?

The project must have co-financing of at least 30% from non-profit work or private funds. As a recipient of support, you must have the liquidity to spend the money as it will be paid out retrospectively when you have reported what you have done.

Non-discrimination

Have you thought about openness and non-discrimination? It is an absolute requirement that no one is prevented from influencing the design of the project, participating in its implementation or benefiting from the project's results due to gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or age.

Equality

Are the project's working methods and distribution of tasks designed so that women and men have equal opportunities to influence the design of the project, participate in its implementation and benefit from the project's results?

Environment and climate

Have you thought about how implementing your idea can reduce negative impacts on the environment and/or climate?

Did you answer yes to the questions?
