Meeting Place Rikardsgården

Rikardsgården has previously been a natural meeting place for both tourists and the local residents, especially from May to September. The project aims to make this meeting place even more attractive for both day visitors and those who stay longer.

About the project

Rikardsgården has hiking and riding trails, nature camping, an info point for visitors, seating areas, and a grill area where everyone is welcome. Now they want to extend the season and find other revenue opportunities when the camping season has calmed down. The business will be broadened and turnover increased so that the company becomes even more sustainable and viable.

In connection with other activities (nature camping, riding trail stops, and farm shop), two public composting toilets from Clivus Multrum will be constructed, where the composting process follows a natural biological process. The toilets will be located at the forest edge and be easily accessible from the parking lot available at the business. Insulation and renovation of the upper floor of an existing storage building will be done, a flexible space that will be used publicly as well as in the business. Renovation will, in addition to insulation, consist of new flooring from their own forest, new windows facing the lake, walls and ceilings made of wood from their own forest, and a new staircase connecting the already existing, uninsulated part currently used by Rikardsgården's visitors.

Meeting Place Rikardsgården

Rikardsgården is located in a rural area and there is currently a long distance between both toilets and meeting places with services. We see a need here, both for our tourism activities and to contribute to a vibrant local community.
