ÖSTERPLANA CHURCH ROOM

A place for meal and cultural tourism will be created in Österplana.

About the project

In the heart of Kinnekulle's largest nature reserve lies Österplana church, a historic site that is now facing an exciting transformation. By adapting the church room – with the renovation of pews into dining areas,
installation of lighting and sound-absorbing fabrics – a multifunctional meeting place is created where culture and gastronomy interact. The project also includes the establishment of collaborations with local food and cultural actors, as well as the development and packaging of clear and attractive offerings. This work culminates in a digital platform where the project and its experiences are marketed. The initiative is part of a long-term development of sustainable rural tourism, where dining experiences and cultural tourism are combined in a unique historical and nature-close environment.

CHANGE OF ÖSTERPLANA CHURCH ROOM

By utilizing existing resources and safeguarding cultural heritage, the project becomes a role model for sustainable transformation in rural areas.
