Where history whispers – and the future listens
In Husaby there is a long, exciting and interesting history about our history – Sweden's history. A multitude of actors, associations and organizations are present and active in the area – in this project, collaboration between these will develop the Husaby region into a nationally recognized destination.
About the project
In Götene municipality, on Kinnekulle in Västra Götaland, a collaborative project is emerging with the goal of elevating the Husaby region to one of Sweden's most well-known historical destinations. With the help of new archaeological finds, playful activities, audio guides, digital and physical informational material, and strong local anchoring, the project will bring the area's thousand-year-old history to life – for families with children, pilgrims, history enthusiasts, and group travelers.
Behind the initiative is Götene municipality in collaboration with over 20 local actors. The goal is to at least double the number of annual visitors to over 70,000 and create a long-term sustainable tourism and collaboration structure in the Husaby region.

In Husaby, a thousand years of history meets the technology of the future – and when the region's associations, businesses, and church join forces, the place comes to life for a new generation of visitors.
